What does "today" mean?

Cruising through Vermont, listening to the radio in the car. Just surfing. A station called "Alice 103" or some such plays its promo, claiming that it's the station playing "Today's Best Music", which apparently is "Come On Eileen". Seems like a searing indictment of everything released in the last 25 years, if you ask me.
